Need some Date Night ideas for you and your significant other to spend quality time together? Healing First Counseling comprised a list to fit everyone’s budget. While we tried to stay local, many of these options can be found all over our wonderful state. According to The Marriage Project research, “couples who devote time specifically to one another at least once a week are markedly more likely to enjoy high-quality relationships and lower divorce rates, compared to couples who do not devote much couple time to one another”. Free Date Night Ideas
Hike and Picnic
Bring the sun screen and enjoy a hike for all ages. With over 5 miles of great trails and lake side views, stop at one of the many picnic locations for a quick meal and enjoy some nature. Take note that bikes or pets are not allowed on the trails and gates are closed 30 minutes prior to sunset.
Grapevine Parks and Recreation
Grapevine Lake has several trails to try, including the option to rents kayaks and paddleboards. Make a night of it by renting a camp site and making some smores! Plus side, you have local amenities close by for your convenience.
Cook Together
Time to check out Google, All Recipes, Pinterest, or that dusty cook book for a new recipe to try. Don’t forget to enjoy the shopping part together, too. Choose the meal together or you can each take on a dessert, side, or drinks. You can even create your own charcuterie board to make it easier.
Theme Nights In
Go down the alphabet and celebrate the letter of the week. On the letter “T”? Watch a movie that starts with “T”, grab a meal with a “T” ingredient or from a “T” restaurant. Get creative and see what each other comes up with to incorporate your chosen letter.
Game night
Monica- step aside. Not all games have to be competitive. There are many games that help couples reminiscence, reconnect, and get to know each other better. Need a list of ideas? Check out Amazon for a variety of games to choose from.
On a Budget Ideas
Check out the stars and planets through the lenses of UNT’S Department of Physics telescopes. Great opportunity to take advantage of a clear Texas night sky and only $5 per ticket!
Enjoy the Fort Worth Skyline and a good flick at Coyote Drive-In. With nightly showings and a variety of food options, you can enjoy a night under the stars. Bonus: It’s pet friendly so Fido can join in, too!

Open 7 days a week, weather permitting, you and your partner can enjoy the Fort Worth skyline with a horseback riding date. Bring out the cowboy and cowgirl in you!
Throw on some 80’s attire and join Rollerworld NorthEast for Adult Skate night every Thursday from 8pm to 11pm. Enjoy a ‘gnarly’ time grooving to tunes and showing off your moves.
